Granite Countertop Care
![]() |
Granite countertops are a great asset to any kitchen or bathroom. According to HGTV, granite countertops are the top choice among homeowners. The fusion of different rocks, minerals, and ores gives granite its unique color. No two granite pieces are the same which gives each granite countertop its own uniqueness and individuality. With the availability of many different colors, granite's durability, heat resistance and longevity make it a great choice for kitchen and bathrooms. |
- Blot spills immediately with a paper towel. Do Not wipe the area, it will spread the spill.
- Clean the countertop with warm water and a few drops of mild or antibacterial dishwashing detergent. Rinse the surface thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Don't use abrasive dry or soft cleaners, those containing harsh chemicals, or vinegar-based products.
- Granite can take hot pans, but not hot fat. Avoid placing anything with hot cooking oils on the counter top.
- Do NOT stand or sit on your countertops. Granite, marble and quartz countertops are very hard but not flexible; therefore, too much weight in one spot could cause a crack.
- Do NOT store toiletry products directly on top of granite or marble countertop surfaces. Hair products, perfumes, colognes, nail products, creams, etc. have a tendency to leak or spill and go unnoticed.
